Security & alarms

They are searching because something already happened.

Almost nobody researches alarm systems for fun. They were broken into on Tuesday, or their neighbour was, and they are on their phone at eleven at night looking for somebody who answers.

Answer the anxious questions first

The order of the page matters more here than on any other kind of site. Reassurance comes before the product catalogue.

  • Your PSIRA registration number, displayed, not buried — it is a legal requirement and a trust signal
  • How fast you can be there, stated in hours not adjectives
  • Which armed response companies your systems link to
  • What happens when it is a false alarm at 3am
  • Whether you service the existing system or only sell new ones
  • Areas covered, by suburb name, because that is what gets typed

Repair searches are the volume you are missing

Far more people search "electric fence not working" or "alarm keeps going off" than "alarm installation quote". Those are cheap jobs that turn into upgrade sales, and almost no installer has a page for them. That gap is the easiest traffic on this list.

Do not use fear imagery

Stock photographs of balaclavas and broken glass are everywhere in this industry and they make a frightened customer feel worse. Photographs of your technicians, your vehicles and neatly finished installations sell competence, which is the thing actually being bought.

Your PSIRA number belongs on the page

Private security work is regulated, and customers increasingly know to check. Your PSIRA registration number, displayed on the site, does two jobs at once: it satisfies the requirement to identify yourself properly, and it is a trust signal that unregistered competitors cannot copy. Most installer sites bury it or leave it off entirely.

  • PSIRA registration number, visible rather than hidden
  • Which armed response companies you can link a system to
  • Whether you service and repair what other people installed
  • Response and call-out times, honestly stated
  • The brands you fit, because people search by brand

Repairs bring in more searches than installations

Far more people search for a fault than for a new system — a fence that keeps tripping, a gate motor that stopped, a camera that has gone offline. Those are separate pages with separate headings, and they are usually the fastest work to win because the customer has already decided to spend.

What your customers actually type

These are the searches that bring work to a business like yours. Every one of them is a page, a heading or a paragraph we build for deliberately.

  • “alarm installation near me”
  • “CCTV installation your city price”
  • “electric fence repairs your suburb”
  • “armed response linking”
  • “PSIRA registered installer”
  • “perimeter beams installation”

Questions

Do I have to show my PSIRA number?
Yes. Security service providers must be PSIRA registered, and displaying the number is both required practice and the fastest credibility signal you have. A site without it looks like a fly-by-night.
Should we list suburbs we cover?
Yes, by name. "Serving the Northern Suburbs" ranks for nothing. A page or a clearly listed set of suburbs matches how people actually search.
We do installations and repairs. One page or two?
Two, at minimum. They are entirely different searches with different urgency, and repair searches are far higher in volume and far less contested.
Should I show photos of customers’ installations?
Only with permission, and never in a way that identifies the property. A photo of a gate with a visible house number and street tells a stranger exactly what protects that home. We crop or reshoot rather than publish those.
Do you build for guarding companies too?
Yes, and it is a different site. Guarding sells on staff vetting, supervision and response times; installation sells on equipment and workmanship. Mixing the two makes both look thin.
Is a monitored alarm page worth having?
If you offer it, yes — it is a monthly recurring product and the people searching for it are ready to buy. It should say what is monitored, by whom, and what happens when it triggers.
